| Review of Jane Fontana’s Performance at The Viper Room
No one truly knows for sure where the future of music is headed. Jane Fontana, however, is forging a new sound and style geared toward the 21st century. Imagine reading a comic book about this cyber-hero-super-chick, then watching her come to life, right off the pages before you! She’s a gorgeous, larger than life figure onstage and takes a no-holds-barred attitude when it comes to performing. Her singing style is animated, dead-on, and has such precision, she definitely has all the tools to become a real star.
This act possesses a sound that is totally original. We witnessed a real rock band, hammering out their music with everything they have, employing sounds that push the envelope and are accessible to anyone who enjoys good, intense live music.
The band opened their set with the energy of an atom bomb, fusing sweet hypnotic verses and incredibly crafty hooks. Jane’s back-up band is top-notch, totally in sync with each other and her eclectic vocals. From soft, pretty passages to perfect pitch screams, her energy is well balanced and utilized at all the right moments. Quite possibly the most illuminating and intriguing aspect of the night was Jane’s incredible saxophone playing. This was an added treat to an already stunning performer, and a testament to her versatility and originality.
The daring and refreshing music Jane Fontana and her band project comes through as real, heartfelt, and radio-ready right now. If you want to see a true Superheroine, and watch a band that may represent the future, you should take a look at Jane Fontana. An outstanding musical and visual experience! |
